Based on your additional comments it sounds like your name is Baltimore, not Alexander. If that's true, then who would know better that you what it's like to have that name? You've lived with the comments and opinions your whole life. What do YOU think of the name?

I think that you shouldn't have to ask anyone else what to name your kid. It's all about the syllables. Here's a name I recently heard someone was going to use but did not... Courtland. So if you have a two or three syllable last name Courtland Baltimore ___. We picked a unique name for our son b/c my name is Jennifer and my husband's name is Jason. We named our son Graydon before all of this Aiden and Braden crap came out. We made up our own name and did not care what anyone thought. But, when I tell people his name now, they seem excited that it is so different.

Some city names are good names for people (Paris, Austin, Troy, Florence, Nancy, Helena, etc.) Baltimore is not one of them. If you like it so, you should use it as a middle name.

Baltimore is unusual, but that's what makes it intriguing. I might suggest that you use it as a middle name. It's a long name that really doesn't have a short-version. Easier for kids to communicate with each other.

What do you think of a 70 year old man named BALTIMORE? Good grief, do you want him to grow up getting beat up for his goofy name?

I'm not big on it. I have never met anyone with that name or heard of anyone using it (the location, sure), and it seems......uncomfortable (for the sake of a better term). Remember the fact that you aren't going to be the one that has the name for the rest of your life, it will be the child.

I started to name my first son Kentucky. Now I realize it was a bad idea. Baltimore is not a person's name. Please realize that bad ideas can happen to good people.

I think it's terrible. Remember, that child has to live with that name for the rest of their life. Dont ever name your child something because it's so different that you think its cool. Thats a good way to get your child teased all the way through school.
