I just want to make it clear that It is not bad to be a special education student.
Also, being a special education student does not mean that you are "slow" or stupid. It does not even necessarily mean that you have a learning disability. The teacher may think that because of your extreme shyness, that you may have social or emotional development problems. They probably will not continue to be concerned as long as they see that is is not affecting your progress in school.

im in the seventh grade too and i totally understand how u feel. check this out though, u dont have to transform yourself or anything, its just that sometimes you gotta realize the outcomes of a good healthy social relationship. my best advice is to just find a close friend and talk to them about things, someone u feel comfortable with.

When we feel scared or nervous or self conscious we hold our breath high in our chests and it unbalances us emotionally. You might recall seeing boxers blow the air out of themselves before a fight. They do this to find their inner balance - so try breathing the air out - so that you feel more solid and dont have the high tightness in your chest. It really works - it centres you and helps you remain calm. I do it when I have to pass road trains and I get scared that I will lose control of my little car as I have to go faster than I feel comfortable driving.
So I am saying, to help you find confidence - give that a try. Good luck.

yes, definitely become more talkative being shy is only hurting you. I was a very shy person for years into my adult life. Once you realize they all put their pants on one leg at a time, and no one NO ONE is better than you. Life will be much better. But, if your grades are hurting please don't be ashamed to get help.

your teacher cannot label you as special ed, because
of your attitude of being shy , they can only put you in
special ed classes through a lot of paper work
and parental consent due to poor grades and not participating
in class assignments.

How are your grades? That will show your ability better than anything you say. Think about it, how many people at your school talk, but say stupid stuff?
Yeah, it helps to talk more, but what you say and how you say it is more important.
