I am very surprised to read so many answers commending how cheap it is to shop at Bugis Village.
The last time I went there was last week when I cut through it to Bugis MRT station. I was quite shocked to see how vendors try to sell their merchandise to tourists there. To tourists, that is probably a place which offers products that are relatively (I reiterate, relatively) cheaper than places like DFS. But to the locals, no - it's definitely not a place where it is cheap to shop at.
I have been to Bugis Village regularly, and have come to see how it has evolved. Now that it has gradually become a place more for tourists to patronise, prices are not necessarily cheaper.
So, no, I don't like shopping at Bugis Village. If I want to go for cheap and good quality stuff, I would go for old neighbourhood two centres instead.

In terms of price range, it's ok. Affordable and in some shops u even get to bargain .. which is a fun part in shopping. =) the products range is also varied and you can easily make comparisons with the other shops selling the some merchandise. The place is somehow like petaling street but more up class. cheers!!

I like the large variety of goods on sale as well as the food and drinks stalls. It has a vibrancy which is missing from the air-conditioned shopping malls in Singapore. It's noisy and crowded and is a change from the "correctness" of most shopping areas.
However I don't like it on hot days as it can get very stuffy especially when it's crowded.

Some stores over charge peope leh! Compare price first then buy.

Bugiss is funn... i mean it's really cozzie.. it's perfect when u got heaps of assignments @ yr neck, u can do your assignments @ the library, and when u get bored u could just chill a lil accross 2 street.

yup will go only on weekdays to hunt for cheap bargains and the variety is good, avoid the weekends thou its damn crowded, cheers
