I agree. Everyone deserves to be happy. As long as they are not harming anyone, then so be it!

First of all, I never want to hear someone say the whole "who am I to say?" bit ever again. You're all intelligent human beings with opinions, beliefs, and convictions. Whether you are for or against gay marriage you have a right to say so. On to the matter at hand.
Homosexual lifestyles are deranged and twisted. The Bible calls them an abomination. Call me a bigot. Two guys/girls tonguing each other? Tell me there's not something wrong with those pictures. I'm not willing to condone their lifestyles and preferences because it's not possible. We care about the kids. We care about our country. And yes, we even care about the two "partners." A homosexual lifestyle is not conducive to salvation, and is going to scar the kids for life.
Nations and empires have been known to decline seriously within a very short time of homosexuality being introduced and legalized .
Why do Gays and Lesbians want to get married so bad? Marriage is 1 Man + 1 woman. A homosexual marriage isn't a marriage at all. Not only this, but why is it even taught in schools? Little kids in kindergarten don't need to be read stories about how Sally has two mommies, or that Johnny has two daddies. Those who can no longer be disgusted by homosexual lifestyles have had their consciences seared like with a hot iron. "Guilt" is no longer in their vocabulary.

I completely agree about how it wouldnt affect anyone if they got married but my World History class just got into a disscussion about htis topic today.
He said that a lot of people believe that if a goverment (of a country such as the USA) strays to far from what it was founded on, like the way it was originally founded, then it will fail, and if you think about it, the United States has some of the oldest documents that are still in effect for its goverment and how things are run.
I think that could be one political reason why but not everyone thinks of everything in the same way as people very familiar with history or goverment does.
Another reason could be just because most people don't like other people who are different and look down upon them for it.
All in all, the Gay Marriage issue is likely to be resolved like any other generations big movement such as Womens Rights and Civil Rights and such. Just give it time.

I don't care. I think that if they want to get married they have every right to do so. I think that if straight people want have a marriage ceremony and be married together forever, that gay people should be able to do so too. I see nothing wrong with it. I support it. Everyone deserves happiness in this life. Who are we to condemn it?

I am straight too and I totally agree, people are just mean. and they are afraid of anything or anyone different then they are. very sad. but I bet it boils down to money some how. like insurance companies and work places who offer special programs and services to married couples feel they will pay more money or something but any way I bet its the money. everything is always the money.

It's not that they care so much about them getting married. That's beside the point. They care because they are asking for the same institutional rights as married people. Such as health care providership, survivorship and other rights bestowed to the institution of marriage for the purpose of raising children and families in a healthy environment. That could have devastating effects on our children and our society.

It has a lot of effect on their life - If its a legal marriage, then they can get a legal divorce with each party entitiled to 50%... It mainly has to do with money - Its far better off for gay people if they can legally marry.
It also means they can adopt and parent kids, which i find real scary... I think homosexuality should not be encouraged like it is.

They are scared of change. Imagine a person from the time when women didn't show their ankles. What would they think of current clothes styles. It would be outrageous.
