Jupiter is a gas gaint and it has no surface. We have yet not made such technology that can make a shuttle enter in to a gas gaint and study the properties of that planet. But we can do one thing. We can go near to it without falling into its surface and study its properties. Or we can make a space shuttle to land on a satellite nearer to that planet and whichis rocky and study the planet as well as satellite. Now Voyager is doing a project related to saturn. It went near to the saturn and is sending us photographs of saturn with more resolution.

Scientists have theorized that there is little of no solid surface on Jupiter. It's a very large ball of gas. Space Shuttles only go into low Earth orbit. They do not leave Earth orbit, and they do not go to the moon as a friend of mine thought.

no. It's true that wind speed and pressure is high.Dats y recently a probe sent to jupiter was burnt to ashes while passing thru the atmosphere.the atmosphere was so dense that due to extreme air friction the probe was destroyed.though for a few mins it was able to collect info regarding the constituency of the atmosphere and transmitted those info to the scientists on earth. It took the probe 4yrs to reach to the 'gas ball'.
so firstly the failure of this mission and secondly the huge cost and time needed for these missions compels the scientists to think a hundred times b4 they have one mor probe exploring the planet's surface

Current technologies cannot handle the high winds speeds and pressures of the upper atmosphere. There is no solid surface persay, but it is believed that the core is a form of liquid hydrogen. Hopefully we will be able to make something that can withstand the pressure lower in the atmosphere.

Jupiter has no surface as its a gas planet - it becomes very dense however.

The Russians and Americans both sent probes to Venus and succeeded in penetrating the atmosphere, and almost succeeded in reaching the surface, in extreme heat and pressure, so I imagine it would be possible for a craft to enter Jupiter's atmosphere.

You wouldn't send a manned craft in, I believe they have sent probes that measured the gas/atmospeheric makeup already, it's not habitable and increased solar radiation is intensifying storms there, too. France will probably want a global warming tax put on all imports from Saturn next.

a shuttle could in future , enter jupiter but cannot land on it as there is no solid surface on jupiter. it is gaseous planet .

It may be not be possible now , as the shuttle we are using presently cannot overcome the existing environ sorrounding the jupiter
