I'm an animal lover and I've picked this as the topic of an essay for my english class. Any (preferably credible, non-blog) ideas?

go to the library and look for different scientific magazines that have articles about this type of research. You can also google it but u have to watch and make sure that these reports are credible, while just going to the library u r gaurenteed credibility. just depends on how much time ur willing to research

That is a very interesting topic you have chosen. Human cloning has also been done but the first ever clone was a sheep called Dolly who looked exactly like a sheep who died 10 years before.

making a clone is hard because when cloning, the foetuses often misread their own genetic code. This site highlights this point

Purebreeding is not that bad I should think. It is cross breeding that is harmful. For example, a jellyfish has got a gene that makes it glow in the dark. Now this gene was put into a bunny! And the bunny DOES glow in the dark. This raises issues-should we be changing nature's doing? Purebreeding is all right, but cross-breeding?I dont think so. man often cross breeds for his own advantage-horses that are fast and horses that are healthy are bred...then used in horse races. Build on this.genetically manipulating is like this only. Putting uniqueness of one nimal like glow-jellyfish into another animal-a bunny.

All the best,
I hope this helped you!
