What's the most memorable fashion advice your mother gave you?

Yeah, My Mum had loads, all of which had been told to her by her mother. Never where heels with jeans, never hold a clutch purse under your arm, never smoke or eat in the street (you can do both indoors), also, there were the religious 1s. Never go in to church with your shoulders or knees un-covered (also pref not your head either), never wear trousers to church, loads more, too many to list

1.) It's not WHAT you wear it's HOW you wear it.

2) Put your clothes on first, then your confidence. I asked what that meant exactly. She just said to stand up straight, shoulders back, chin up and a smile on your face.

#2 really is true. Try it sometime in a dressing room mirror. If you think the outfit looks so-so, stand up straight, pull your shoulders back, lift your chin a bit and smile. Whatever you have on looks a bit better!
