*make sure you boil (sanitize) nipples and bottles so that you'r not giving it right back to him if you bottlefeed.
*Don't rub hard or anything, but air dry your nipples after nursing him, to make sure they are dry before covering back up, to prevent the bacteria being on them when you feed him.
*buy some Acidophilus powder at a health food store (walmart may even have it). Make it into a paste of it using water or breastmilk and rub it in baby's mouth once a day. Or add 1 tsp of the powder to formula if formula feeding. Continue for 1 week after problem is gone
*wash baby chew toys once a day in Hot soapy water
*If you are breastfeeding, YOU have to get reated, too.
**WARNING: this next remedy should only be used after discussing with your & baby's Doctors. If the infection is resistant to everything else, try a 0.25 - 0.5 percent solution of gentian violet applied to your nipples twice a day for three days. Overuse can irritate baby's mouth. Put vaseline on his lips before using the gentian violet.

if you have been breast feeding and you have thrush as well it may well just be continueing to feed his symptoms. Ring the Pedi back or ask a pharmacist if there is anything you should be taking as well. If not, ask for a second opinion.

Are you talking about the cream nystantin or a medicine in liquid form? But what you need to do is let your pediatrician know that it didn't work and he can prescribe something else. And that is way too long so it might be something more severe and might need something stronger like another antibiotic or something. But let them know immediately or take him to the hospital.

that's a difficult one! u would think a doctor would be able to help. I know when my baby had vaginal thrush i used a cream called DAKTOZIN and it worked a treat. I still use it for nappy rash and highly recommend it! I wish you well........

Are you nursing?
If so, BOTH of you need to be treated or you will just pass it back and forth.
