I only get to see him a couple days a week because of his job,army and he has full custody of his 9 year old daughter. I want to tell him on Valentine's Day!

If it makes any difference i know him from high school and he told me on our first date that he's ready to settle down and get married.

i think that if you know you really do love him you can tell him that. i dated my bf for two weeks and told him that i loved him. i knew he was the one i wanted to spend the rest of my life with. we have now been togther for 2 years, and are getting married in september. i have never been this happy in my whole life.

Being open and honest will always turn out the best everytime...note the best doesn't always mean 'the way you want it to work' but it always turns out the best way.
if you are sure you love him...why don't you write down what love means to you in a journal or something. and if you are sure...tell him.
Something struck me as odd.
If he has sole custody of his daughter...how is he in the army? You can't be a single parent...and raise the child yourself and still be 'worldwide available' Does he have something set up that if he gets deployed, someone will raise his daughter for him?
I was involuntarily separated (honorably) from the navy because I was a single parent with full custody of my daughter. So something sounds amiss.

It's not too soon to let him in on how you really feel about him.
Better to tell him now while you have the chance 'cause you never know when someone you love will be gone.

You need to do what feels right to you. My husband told me he loved me after 1 week of dating. If you find you can say it easily and it feels right, then it is right. Honey, I say GO FOR IT!!! If you don't, you may later regret not taking the risk.
