There are lots of escapes. Reading is always a good one and usually doesn't have negative consequences like over indulging in acohol or other drugs (though it can be fun at the times). Denial seems to be preffered by a lot of people. They can't handle the truth of their lives or the world around them so they choose to live in their own made up little world and to hell with all evidence to the contrary.
I have a number of reality escapes. Alcohol, while not a real escape, helps take off the rough edges at times. Some drugs used to put me in a different reality though it wasn't always a better one than the one I was escaping from. Television is one of the worst forms of escape but I do succomb (sp) to it at times. I guess I have to vote for reading. A good author can help you paint a vision of world totally unlike your own and take you directly into the heart of that world.

Today i went outside and laid down in the snow, so i could escape for a while... But, Usually i just come on here so i can get away for a little while..

I day dream, go to sleep (works wonders for me), listen to music, and day dream some more... this keeps my mind off many things.

I listen to my music.I just get absorbed into my music and go off into my little dream world.

I read books and go off on all the adventures in them, or i put the headphones on and close my eyes while listening to great music and letting it take me anywhere but here
reality sucks!!
