Most avid readers go through that kind of period in their lives. That's good. It's a period where you will build a cultural base for yourself. As long as you're not unhappy doing what you're doing and you don't miss those activities, there's nothing wrong with it - you're just going through an important phase of your personal education.
Eventually, you'll probably learn to favor fewer books, but books that are more relevant, more inspirational to you, and lead a balanced life in which those books serve as an endless source to check the balance between outer reality and your inner world. In the meantime, enjoy.
Nietzsche referred to this as the camel phase of life; where one accumulates baggage without regard for what type of burden it was. ;)

I'm a book lover too. You still need a life outside of books. I know how impossible that sounds. You can join a book club at your local library or bookstore. Start one of your own. Join one online. Take a couple hours after you finish a book and go to a coffeehouse for tea or coffee. Clear your head and just think about that last book. You have to get out. If I didn't have kids, I'll be reading all day too. Find someone you can discuss books with.

Hi there, I'm a book lover myself! I love to read so much that I even read while walking, eating, doing chores, just about whenever I can! I even have a crazy things where I swoon (out of delight) at the sight of so many books and I love the smell of a new book!
I don't think there's anything wrong with reading a lot or loving to read, it's when you read too much that you don't spend time with your family, friends, or even yourself! Reading is important, but so is spending time with people. Try to find friends who love books as well so that you can spend time reading together.
Reading gives us a glimspe of the human soul; friends gives our soul a heart. :)

It probably is possible to read too much, especially if you don't have any sort of social interaction at all because of your reading.
However, I do understand always needing to have a book to read, and needing to start another one immediately, because I do that as well.
My advice would be to join a book group that meets once a month. That way you will have scheduled social interaction and you'll be discussing books!

It's great to have that kind of passion for reading. But if you seem to be so caught up in reading and not spending any time doing social things than you just might end up feeling lonely and just feel out of place when around others. Try to have the time to get out and met friends and talk to others enjoy that part of life, You can always have your time to read your favorite books. Just even out your time.

I am a book lover. it is good to read also, but too much can hurt your vision. however, it is not good if you do not seem to have no time left for other social activities. you should try volunteering to read foe kids at your local library, or join a book club and go to book discussions. that way, you will still continue to read, and socialize with your reading.

I thought it is a good thing to read too much books? But if it's taking over your social life, then, yeah, you got problems. It sounds like you have an addiction to books. Hey, it's better than other addictions.

You can never read too much.Like you i absolutely love to read and i can't stop reading until i finish the book.
But even though i love reading i try to balance out my social life with it.
You can try to set a certain time to read and another to spend with friends.

It's not bad to read books a lot, just don't overly obsess with them. Maybe you could benefit from reading a few more, and not just modern novels. Try some literature.
