hey everyone,

we aren't pregnant yet but are tossing up some baby names.....we are wanting to start a family and get married in the next 18 months anyway I'm just wondering what you all think of these 2 names....

for a boy: Liam James Malcolm Hardman
for a girl: Sheniqua Heather Patricia Batchelor or Hardman

or any other ideas around the first names provided....this is what we would name our kids in an ideal world but still it's nice to know what others think so please feel free to answer and be honest at the same time.

thanks everyone
Mitch aka Laura's teddy bear

or more likely Piper for the girl as Laura's sister has a daughter named Phoebe and her brother has a daughter named paige so Piper would make it all 3 charmed girls Laura thinks thats cute and I tend to agree with her

well i wish you the best of luck when you and your fiance do try to get pregnant. I am 4 months along and i am also having a hard time with boys names. I recommend going to babycenter.com, their website is awesome for stuff like that. Also you can go to amazon.com and find a baby naming book that will give you the nationality and the meaning. Good luck.

Do not follow trends, as it will be common, do not go too bazaar as it is tacky, how many kids are named after designer labels now.....yuk.
Do not abbreviate..if you like Liam, then name him William but call him Liam. That gives him the chance to be flexiable with his name, be respectable when he wants to and cool with mates.
As for Sheniqua...what the hell is that????No no no. Heather is nice, Do not have more than 2 first names if you are having double barrelled surname, and no more than three first names if you are having a single surname.
My children are James Thomas (double barrelled surname) and Harriett Francesca (Double barrelled surname)
One point, you'll change your mind once you are preg, I had always liked Emily but once preg it never seemed right.
Also, sometimes the name doesn't suit the baby once born.
I was going to be called Hiedi, but I had jet black hair so my mom changed it.

Also watch for initial problems..Mark Alan Davis (MAD!)
Dont stress, buy a bay book

Just look up the meanings and choose that way. My husband likes Cameron but it meant crooked nose. We went with Christian instead. Good luck. I really like Liam by the way. A girl name I loved but our family hated was Phoebe. We had a boy so didn't have to worry about that one. We just got a puppy so guess what her name is? Phoebe of course. Good luck!!

Uh..no to the Sheniqua. Are you serious? It seems in great contrast to the "Liam" and all.

Try "Lily". It's a classic name, and modern! Also, you could nickname her "Lil"

I would strongly suggest that you NOT saddle your children with more than one middle name. It creates so many headaches with legal stuff later in life. It doesn't change their worth if they only have one middle name.
