Where I live, they just released the crime stats for '06. Fifty percent of the murders involved stabbing. I have never heard of a movement to ban knives. Someone told me (I have not verified this) 85% of date rape involves people using alcohol or drugs. Almost 100% of domestic violence involves alcohol or drugs. Is it because alcohol is big business that no one wants to ban it? Or, is it socially acceptable to get drunk and beat your wife or kids, but God forbid someone owning a gun for sport or self defense.

the government wants to look like its trying with out actually doing anything...guns are easy to track with the serial numbers being different on each one... and blah blah. its all bull if you ask me. if someone wants to hurt you, theyll find a way to do it, legal or not.

There _is_ a movement to ban all non-kitchen knives in the UK. They banned handguns, crime went up, they can't re-ban guns, so they're going for knives and swords.

I don't know. Both of my brothers own guns and when I move into my own house I will be getting a gun because single female alone in a house. Hmmmm.... I think I'll stick with the gun.
