I would have on the menu any type of food that you don't have to fight with...if you are on a date, you want eating to be the easy part, so a soft salad (marinated tom/mushrooms), a main dish that you don't cut (lasagna), and a nice chocolate dessert (brownie w/ice cream), wine, tea and coffee...see, no onions, easy eating, comfort food which can set the mood for love...oh, if it is a long time relationship....order exactly what your heart desires...just have the above for the 'special'

~Two Hearts Salad - Hearts of Romaine w/artichoke hearts, roasted sweet red bell peppers cut with a tiny heart shaped cookie cutter and displayed across the top of the salad. Light vinaigrette.
~Roasted Red Pepper Soup
~Valentino Surf and Turf which is a petite fillet with several butterflied shrimp served on plate beside. Grill both and top the steak with heart shaped slice of herb/garlic butter or light wine sauce. Consider blood orange wedge next to shrimp, if not, use a dab of roasted red pepper coulis.
~Small baked potato, top with slice of same heart shaped butter.
~Lightly steamed whole green beans - garnish with grape tomato halves - drizzle with a little balsamic vinegar.
~Dessert could be chocolate fondue for two with strawberries and plain biscotti or cookie sticks for dipping... or you could put together a chocolate and strawberry dessert of your own design. Nothing too cold... the chocolate in this dessert should be warm... consider a lava cake with strawberries beside or something... this is the most sensuous and romantic - warm chocolate with berries.
If you choose to do all courses, keep portions small as you don't want patrons to feel too stuffed for romance, because they'll definitely be in the mood for it after they've consumed this meal!
Best to you...

A local restaurant I love has a 'sweetheart special'. It includes 2 steaks, 2 baked potatoes, and 2 drinks for one price. They actually have it year-round, though.

Oysters are supposedly an aphrodeisiac so that would be something good to serve for an entree. As for dessert I have made my husband cream puffs filled with vanilla pudding and topped with melted chocolate, whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

Fresh spinach salad with walnuts and a warm bacon dressing....Seafood bisque....Petit Filet mignon paired with an 8oz lobster tail... grilled asparagus, zucchini and tomato. For 2 of course.....tableside chocolate fondue with grapes, strawberries and edible flowers. (yes, there most definitely is such a thing. Tastes like lettuce) A rose for the lady....of course.

I always did a pared down version of my usual menu. The special was prime rib for two, which included baked potatoes and salad. I tried the complimentary glass of wine or champagne, but nobody ever wanted wine. *sigh*

I'd have a red menu: salad with dried cranberries and goat cheese and walnuts, red wine infused pasta or red wine risotto, poultry or pork with cranberry relish, strawberries to dip in a big chocolate fondue pot or cherry pie with pink strawberry ice cream.
