Fun things to do depend on what type of person you are. Bowling is a pretty safe bet, going to the park, the bookstore, library. Take up a hobby, collect sea shells ^_^. Theres tons of stuff to do that doesn't involve the temptation to drink.

To be honest? This is not the best place for a support system. People will tell you to drink. Get out of your old habits. I don't know you but find something that gives you drive. Avoid the things that caused you to drink. You need support right now, not strangers telling you to drink, they don't know you. If you are serious about getting the help you need, then don't ask this kind of question on yahoo question and answer boards. You will get alot of smart *** answers that will screw up your recovery.
P.S. Already a thumbs down, not sure if it was from the asker or the one person I gave a thumbs down to that said AA was for losers. You got great answers from many but there are more to come. I have dealt with alcoholics. Yahoo q and a board you can get yes, much support from strangers, but dealing with those with the disease, the negative comments out weigh the positive ones. That is why I say Yahoo q and a board not the best place to be asking such a question in your recovery. ASK YOUR SPONSOR WHAT THEY THINK ABOUT MY COMMENT.

Most of the AA groups in my area always have a slew of social events on the calendar. In the mean time, make sure you master step one out of the 12 and 12. You must be convinced that you are powerless over alcohol and that your life was truly unmanageable because of alcohol and/or drugs. I've heard of some sponsors who make their sponsees stay on this step for an entire year.

WTG & congratulations! Anything fun depends on each person, just make sure it's something where drinking is not usually done.
Outdoor type sports are usually a good thing to do, you could also go to your local pool and go swimming. Maybe take up a new hobby, collecting something, painting etc.

That's a good start. You might want to go out with some sober buddies after the meeting and socialize. You'll soon gravitate towards people who have interests similar to yours, and you'll have plenty to do!
Keep coming back.

Its probably your best bet right now to help you stay on the straight and sober..
