To reset oil life monitor Turn ignition switch to run position with engine off. Cycle accelerator pedal from closed throttle to wide open throttle. In other words , step on the gas pedal to the floor and up 3 times with in 5 seconds.Change oil soon lite will flash for 2 seconds when system is reset. If change oil soon lite comes on and stays on for 5 seconds the system did not reset . So repeat procedure . Its as easy as that!

Is it a message, or just the light? If its comming from a information panel with lots of buttons like on my GM truck ( fuel left, range, miles traveled, oil life, trans fluid life, etc) then hold the button marked reset till it makes a ding type sound and it should read 100% life and oil light should shut off. Other than this, simply drive to your local GM dealer, ask to talk to a mechanic there, show him the light and offer to slip him 10 dollars if he could reset it for you.Do this incase the service rep says it will cost you an arm and a leg to shut it off, lol. Hope I helped. Jeremy

Chevy doesn't make an F2500. They make a "C" or a "K".
Turn the key on (Not started, just ON), Press the accelerator pedal to the floor and completely release it three times within 5 seconds. Turn the key off and wait for 10 seconds, then start the truck.
Happy Motoring

Take the cover off the fuse box. There should be a reset button in there. Press the reset button once only. If it has NOT reset the light, press and hold for three seconds.
Hope that helps and good luck.
