If one of my friend is having a abortion on a thursday and then starting the pill on the friday, will that stop the bleeding by the weekend

No, it won't and I wish people would stop saying you are a bad person for supporting your friend's decision. I went with a friend to have an abortion, and it was the best gift I could give her. She needed me and needed to know that she wasn't alone. I never regret being there for her. Good for you.

no. The bleeding will continue for a week to 2 weeks even if the pill is started.

No, the bleeding will last for about a week. Maybe a little less the cramping is what is going to suck. That can be pretty painful.
And for the ones who are giving her a hard time. Screw you. If your planning on having sex this weekend I agree that would be a dumb thing to do. You don't know why she's doing this. Who are you to judge. What if she was raped? I was and had to make some really hard choices so why don't you all just back off!!!!!!!

Are you sure you shouldn't be advising your friend against the abortion? She is obviously trying to pretend it's not going to happen... but guess what? it will and believe it or not studies show that she might be left with serious psychological damage, plus may have trouble conceiving in the future, and they have recently discovered that abortions increase the risk for future breast cancer... are you sure you want your friend to risk any of these including becoming suicidal... a common thing among women who have had an abortion.
I know the pregnancy is not wanted, and I respect that, but I do not think an innocent baby, whose heart is already beating... needs to suffer and die for your friends mistake... she already made one, why make another bigger mistake... Tell your friend, this "group of cells, that's not even human" as they say has already determined it's sex, the color of his/her eyes, and if she'll look like her daddy or her mommy... isn't she a bit curious to know what that result will be?
I'm not even asking her to sacrifice her whole life for this baby...just 8 more months of her time and then give up this baby to one of the many loving couple that can't conceive. There are so many out there just waiting...
I strongly believe your friend's body and mind will heal faster after a natural birth than the abortion....

No, when you have an abortion, it's no different than have a baby or a miscarriage except that the baby didn't die of natural causes, it was killed. She will bleed for 2-3 weeks. What difference does it make if she is bleeding that weekend? Is she hoping to have sex or something? I am anti-abortion but she really shouldn't be doing anything strenuous(INCLUDING SEX) for at least two weeks after.
There are much more important things to consider. She will likely be pregnant again within 2 years and her risk of self destructive behavior TRIPLES. Abortion isn't good for women. I really hope that this isn't a decision taken lightly. It won't make her un-pregnant and make the "problem go away".

No, and she shouldn't have sex until 6 weeks after the abortion or it can cause a SERIOUS infection in the uterus.

It should, it normally takes about 2-3 days. Her body will still feel pregnant afterwards though.

No and let me ask you this..how can you stand by and let her kill and innocent baby. its horrible and I hope she never has children again because obviously she doesnt deserve them. So tell her to think about the horrible thing shes doing and how shes going to have to live with the fact that she killed her own baby for the rest of her life. Its people like her that make me absolutely sick.
