I was invited to work for WFG (World Financial Group). I joined for like a week already before i did some research about the company. After i read many people saying that WFG is a pyramid scheme, i am wavering to continue work for the company. I was skeptical about paying 100 bucks for background check, then it turned out not for background check but my credit card payment say for business finance... isn't background check free?

1. Scam? This is a company that works with billion dollar financial companies each day. Don't you think those companies have done their own checking to be sure that it isn't a scam?

2. Someone likely used the wrong term. The hundred dollars is most probably an administation fee rather than a background fee.

3. My brother owns a franchise - I won't mention which one - but he's got over 187 outlet stores in it right now. To get into business with him costs about $180,000 and that's a fairly cheap franchise fee. For a chance to get into a business for about 0.05% of that seems like a heck of a deal.

4. I learned a long time ago that what's online isn't always true or accurate. Try googling whatever your car type is and add sucks at the end and see what comes up. For example: Toyota, Ford, Chevy, etc., sucks. What comes up will want to make you sell whatever vehicle you have. People with a grudge or just ignorance can post anything they want online.

5. Whatever you decide, good luck.

WFG is not a scam. This doesn't mean it's right for you, but it is a legit business and does provide very useful services to many people. Don't believe everything you read.
