It was two men and a woman talking about science, politics and the meaning of life -set on an island on the coast of Europe. They could walk to the island at low tide - it had a castle or huge church on it. The woman was the scientist and talked about atoms and stars. I can't remember the name of the movie but the actors were quite famous.

You don't have any additional info? About what year it was made.....who the actors were.....more about the movie? Anything? I know how frustrating this kind of thing is! Unfortunatly I don't have any ideas for you, altho I don't think "Sand Pebbles" is what you want....that's an old war movie I believe.
