Just a guess, have you changed the fuel filter? At the speeds you listed there might be more demand on the fuel system and a clog might only show up then.

You have a number of good suggestions here. If you are getting spark then it could be the timing belt which should be replaced every 90,000 miles or 7 years whichever comes first. Usually this results in bent valves and an expensive repair but not always. Even so a new timing belt with labor can cost anywhere from $300 to $700 depending on who does it. If you are not getting spark it may be the igniter in the distributor. This is a common problem in that year and model. I had that problem with my '93 Accord coming home at 1 AM one night. A new ignitor or a used distributor will likely cost about $100.

I think that the first response is dead on. Perhaps not the pump, but at least the filter.
Has anyone actually performed a fuel pressure and volume test?

A good thing to check out.

I threw money at mechanics for a honda for a long time before I finally replaced the fuel pump like my daddy said, worked like a charm

check the back latch in the distributor shaft
check the advance weights in the distributor( the springs in place)

seems like You loose timing(spark) in betwin shifting.
check if You have knock sensor in that engine.
