No. No storm to come will be as bad as Katrina which only hit the Louisiana Area. And it has never been STRUCK.

I have been in my own hurricanes and I live in central Florida. My town is right next to Lady Lake (the place that got hit by tornadoes this morning)

I'm 16 and from "Unincorporated" Miami (between North Miami/Opa Locka NOT overtown) and the only really bad ones that were in my lifetime were Wilma and Andrew. Most of the time they just avert us some how.

However, we still have to do all that annoying hurricane prep in the fall (which is pretty much extended summer). I remember that we had to bag and rebag and prep the school multiple times in a week for some wimpy hurricanes. Then if we miss too many days, we have to make them up so it ends up being REALLY annoying.

Wilma wasn't so bad. It was the poor method of getting gas here and the 'sneeze on a pole and your power goes out' electricity that was pissing most of the people off.

I was alive but I was only a baby for Hurricane Andrew, but ask around and I'm sure people will be ready to tell you a ton about it. All I know was that it was pretty bad especially in Homestead.

Nevertheless, with all the hurricane watches and warnings (despite not so many extremely strong hurricanes) it force the cities to add tons of pesky building codes and red tape. While it is beneficial I suppose, it is extremely irritating to get something done without ignoring the city outright.
