yes and no
Its causes air vibrations, which are not audible to an absent audience.
I get so tired of answering this question.

Yes.
If sound is defined as the vibrations that travel through the air (or other medium like water, but presumably air in this scenario), then simple physics would dictate that the vibrations would occur when the tree falls.
If you define sound as the human perception of those vibrations once it has entered the ear and been processed in the brain, then no. But that is not really a very good definition of sound as science has demonstrated that sound vibrations have a definite impact on matter whether or not anyone is there to "hear" the sound. (e.g. resonance, ultrasound, etc.)

It does make a sound because although no one is present at the time, it still took place.
It's like a lit candle. If no one is around to see the candle eventually die out, then did the wax melt? Yes! It happened, and therefore is in history. Although the history was not recorded, it still took place.

Im sure it does..it makes a sound when it falls and someone is around to hear it, so why would it be any different if no one is around...
Im just being logical and using proven knowledge to come to this conclusion...
nothing changes, with or without an audience...

Only if it's a slow news day and then the media will rush in and you will hear the sound for another week. And it will be a controversial sound, I assure you.

By no one, I assume you mean no people. If there are animals around some will still hear the noise.

no because a sound is the particular auditory effect produced by a given cause. So anything that is not heard , isn't a sount.
