I think you will find they are quite capable. Queen Elizabeth I, was quite formidable, Boudica a British warrior queen was very formidable. Golda Mayer was the Prime Minister of Israel, a country that has not been at peace since founded in 1947. She held her own against the Arab males that would have liked to see the destruction of her country. Don't forget Joan of Arc who led an Army.
Pelosi has gotten where she is by being a no nonsence tough politition and she will continue in that way. I think Hillary Clinton could handle it too. Some women could not but neither could some men so I really believe gender has nothing to do with standing up to an enemy. History shows it.

Margret Thatcher, former Prime Minister of Britian had no problems fighting and winning the Falklands war in the 1980s. Wars are won by generals, at least that's the way the use to be won before Bush became President, so as long a women President selected good generals the US should have no problem winning future wars (unless Bush starts WW3 then there wouldn't be any more wars).
