I live in Illinois. I got a copy of my landlords tax bill (he gave it to me as proof he owned building). I just checked and he hasn't paid his property taxes and has been delinquent since 2005. If I buy the delinquent taxes, would I still have to pay him rent??

I don't think the 1st person understood. I don't own the property now. In my county, when you buy delinquent taxes......the person has a certain amount of time to pay, what I was asking is.....WOULD I HAVE TO PAY THE LANDLORD RENT....not WOULD I HAVE TO PAY THE GOVERMENT TAXES> I already know that I would have to. I'm asking would I have to pay the landlord rent, even though I hold the certificate for the property taxes????
