Coincidence literally means "together incidents." Or in other words two things happening together or that seem related. Usually when somebody says "it's just coincidence" they mean there is no higher design involved, no destiny, nothing special about it.
The theory of synchronicity says there are no accidents and all coincidences are part of a larger pattern that we cannot discern most of the time but that's always there, just under the surface. Is that really true? Impossible to "prove" in any scientific sense but if you've ever had a set of coincidences that were just too uncanny to be "just coincidences" this has a way of making you believe.
The question of whether everything happens for a reason or not, while you may take it as a given, may or may not be true. This is one of those things that falls under "belief" that can't really be substantiated or disproven either way.

Interesting question.
Sinse you believe that everything happens for a reason, then you must believe that a certain coincidence happened for a reason. Confusing?
here's an example:
Let's assume Bob and Jill are friends who hare in their 30's and haven't seen eachother sinse high school.
If Bob and Jill meet in a store and just happen to be in the same store on the same day at the same time, and they meet, they met for a reason. Maybe Bob needed a friend, and Jill was there to help him (bit of a stretch). Maybe Jill and Bob get married a year latter (an other stretch but you see my point).
So although things happen on coincidence, that coincidence happened for a reason. Make sense?

Many things dont have a good reason for happening. its just a coincidence that certain things were in place to cause it to happen when normally it wouldnt always be that way.
Somethings happen for a reason, but its not always the same one. Coincidence is more for things that occur that cant always be explained. Like how two people would have the same birthdate is something rare.

If there isn't a reason to have coincidences, then that proves that not everything happens for a reason...
Then that would mean coincidences do have a reason, and things DO happen for a reason...
And then no coincidences would exist...
Ugg!

everything happens for a reason so that there is coincidence. without coincidence, there would be no reason for nothing to happen. things happen for the sake of coincidence and coincidence is the result of things happening.
if things didnt happen, then there would be no coincidence. coincidence will always be the end result of things happening for a reason. the reason thing happen as a coincidence is that without coincidence, things of reason would not happen.

some people believe in coincidences others believe that everything happens for a reason. The people that believe in both either are not intelligent enough to think about it or ar too lazy to.

Ignorance of the truth is why some use the term "coincidence". The correct term is "Syncronisity". All things are connected by the light of Gods unconditional love.Carnal man, unaware of his unity with God in unconditional love within his heart lives on the level of law, The law of cause & effect or Karma, Desire through actions in thought, word, and deed determines their life circumstances and their destiny.
