What does it mean in Itune when it say's consolidate Library?

What does that really mean consolidate Library? Library from all differen media players? Or what? Thanks

that will copy all of your music into your library file(the folder you designated to be your library)
If you have your music in different folders, this will put all of your file into one folder.
