Question 1: Find the exact numerical value of
2sin^2 60°+tan^2 30°-cos 45°
Question 2: Simplify the following expressions:
a) sin A. cos (180°- A). cos (90° + A)
b) cos (90°+q). sin(90°-q) + sin (90°+q). cos (90°-q)
note: the q is an (unknown I think) angle symbol the one with the oval with the line through the middle of it).
c) sin (180° - x). cos x ¸(divide by, large line separating both lines)
tan (180° - x)
Question 3:Use your calculator to evaluate the following correct to 2 decimal places (I haven't got my graphics calculator with me...long story)
a) sin58.7°
b) tan 31°8'
c) cos(-73°42' )
Question 4: Answer true or false to each of the following:
a) sin^2a= (sin a)^2
b) sin^2 41°+cos^2 41°=1
c) tan 53°12' = 1.33 (correct to 2dp)
d) cos (10°+30°)=cos 10°+cos 30°
e) cos (90°- x)=sin x
Thankyou for your help. Please write down which each working and answer is for clearly (question 1, 2, 3 or 4 and a, b, c etc).
