"Peter and the Wolf" was created by Sergei Prokofiev for his Opus 67. The songs were written specifically for each instrument. "Sonia" was the name of the duck, so that song was Sonia's theme song. The very best version to me was the Walt Disney cartoon version narrated by Sterling Holloway, who did many voices for Disney movies (and was the voice of Winnie the Pooh).

I would recommend that you buy a cd with the entire score of "Peter & The Wolf" by Sergey Prokofiev One of the best versions is narated by Sir John Gielgud and performed by the Academy of London Orchestra. "Carnival of the Animals" by Saint-Saens is on the same cd.
