I am looking for a movie I saw in the late 80's?

It had a rock star named Simon in it who liked to get drunk a lot. There was an African-American women in it also who I believe was falling for the guy who had to take care of Simon. Does anyone know the title for this movie? It was pretty silly, probably a one or two star movie.

The name of the film is He's my girl with TK Carter. Warwick Sims played Simon the drunk rocker.
