I tried this with AVI and it put a 1 1/2 hour movie on 1/4" of disc. When I wached it it froze half way through.

mpg or mpeg are the best...also I know sony dvd player is the only one that will read a dvd that freezes on other brand players..good luck

Sounds like either your file is corrupted, or your disk is of inferior quality.

If your dvd player can play AVI files, then stick with them, otherwise you could try MPEG.

the file needs to be good ... if its got a corrupted spot in it theres going to be problems ... also it depends on the player and how compatible it is with the particular codec used to encode the file ... and most settop dvd players like the session closed when u burn the disk .. close the disk ...
