I would find out the wattage through the same magic you plan on using to get the video card in there.

If you can't open the case because the warranty will be voided then you can't upgrade your graphics card without voiding the warranty (because opening the case is what you'll have to do).
Ultimately unless the specs sheet of the computer or a piece of documentation it came with says what the power supply can give you'll just have to open it up and read the label.

You need to open the side and read it off of the unit. Most are from 250 to 350 Watt anyways.

Over heating? Bad memory? Is this Windows? Mac? What operating system? Check the Event Viewer if it's Windows.

Download (free) Belarc Advisor. It will take an inventory an inventory of everything in your computer and produce a list of all the hardware and software - and you'll know.......or go to the manufacturer's site and look up the your system or write them an email and ask.

Your waranty cannot be voided if you open your case. You have to be able to open the case to clean out dust, check hardware, make adjustments and upgrades, etc.
You'll have to open it to upgrade your power supply anyway.
