If you have a lot of restore points retained it can eat-up a lot of HD space.

On my compaq the hard drive always shows that it is fuller than what my contents show. But the drive is partitioned and all of the recovery files are behind it. Windows knows that there is something there but only the recovery program from the root directory of the drive, or accessing it from a dos prompt is the only to see what is behind it. I find it best to leave it alone until needed.

hi vivek
the best thing you can do,install a clean-up software, well by now i think you already knew what to do for installing that clean-up software,i believe everything will be ok,after you do that.search online and carry on with it,you also can also try to repair all the registry errors in your computer. These errors might cause your pc to show the status like that. good luck

Try doing a defrag. This will show you how the space on your drive is being tied up.

May be taken up by some temporary files, virus. Or your system's algebra has gone wrong somewhere.
