Hello ladies, I've seen a lot of questions concerning these new ultrasounds and while I had mine done recently, it was done at my OB/Gyn's office by a trained technician...here's an article I just found concerning risks of ultrasounds done by UNTRAINED professionals

Haha, yes that was a slip. Like some plastic surgeons, they pass themselves off as "professionals" but aren't really and this results in disasters. The same can be said about some "techs"...

What you said kinda didn't make sense.. you can't be untrained AND a professional. ;) I'm sure it's just a slip.

I would've had a 3D or 4D diagnostic ultrasound if it had been offered to me. I also would've had the one done by these places that do them and they're NOT medical/diagnostic. They're pretty expensive, though! The place I looked up in my area wouldn't do it unless you had a consent from your ob/gyn AND have had a diagnostic u/s. They are basically for entertainment only. I talked with a nurse about this and she said it would be cool but what if they find a "fetal demise" (stillborn baby).

I went to get one done, but the baby decided to push its face up against my placenta. When the baby eventually moved, it covered its face with its hands! The special ultrasound never ended up happening!

I had one done by a trained tech as well and everything was fine. The pictures were amazing...and you could already tell who she was going to favor with her looks.
