I've noticed that black women are not as uptight as white women. Why are white women so uptight?

First of all... I don't think race/ethnicity has anything to do with it. I am African American and have met many uptight "black" women and some very easy going White women. There are cultural differences that could account for differences... but that is a huge generalization you made, and maybe in your experience it is true.

Honestly it just depends on each ones own individual personality. There are just different things that they are uptight or not uptight about.

Black women have seen it all and been thru
it all--that gives a person confidence and
stability. They are quite certain that they
will "get thru" whatever mess comes at them.
White women depend on someone else to
give them "the answer";. either their husband,
or father, or the government. They find it hard to stand face-to-face with adversity.
The women in the military now know first-
hand what it's like to stand up and be counted. Some of them can't stand this
strain tho and are coming back as broken
people--like the men did from Vietnam.

I suppose the reason black women are not as uptight as white women is because black women don't really care about status or their image.

A white woman would not be as comfortable in a building with all black employees as a black woman in an all white environment.
I think us white girls are pampered more and we were led to believe black people in a group are a mob and they will rape us and kill us...I know its far from true but you asked! Most of us act like snobs when threatened....but we really want to call our moms or hide in the bathroom...so I imagine... would a scared black woman. We are all girls ...sometimes happy or sad sometimes in love or crabby...but we all want our mom!...I think I will call mine now!! I hope you do too!

We have learned to seek happiness regardless of how hard our life is.

So we dance, laugh and amuse ourselves as much as we can.

Moral: Hardship makes us appreciate the little we have, all the more.

C'est la vie and Que, sera sera are my family's daily mantra.
