All the bands who are considered to be emo bands deny being emo bands (i.e. Panic! at the Disco, Fall out Boy, My Chemical Romance). So it seems to be yet another term the media latches onto as a stick to beat people with whereas it started off years ago with the likes of Fugazi and was allegedly cool, the way these things have a habit of doing.

Well there are a lot of bands that people would call emo, even though they're really just being themselves and shouldn't be labeled anyway. But bands that seem to be labeled emo all the time are Hawthorne Heights, Dashboard Confessional, From First to Last, 30 Seconds to Mars, Taking Back Sunday, Fall Out Boy, and other bands like that.
