I go to a catholic school, and my dad thinks that I'm supposed to dress into one of those suits that take a week to get tailored, even though the admission for one student was $7.50. For a private school, what would be the appropriate attire for a homecoming dance? Unless I know, my dad will keep fussing at me.

i would suggest a semi-formal something like a dress-down-suit. Wear something so you can keep your jacket off most of the time and still look good. It's not like a senior prom event, but its usually pretty classy.

At my school, we always dressed nice, but not to fancy. May be a nice dress shirt and pants or a suit. It doesn't matter. :]
