Hi, I got a Wesley Allen bed, the Andover model in a queen size, and the instructions were a little vague. Does anyone who has one of these beds or has sold them know, do I need to use the washers that came with the rest of the hardware? There's a bunch of washers, but no where in the instructions does it indicate where to use them or if you need them at all, but then again, why is there a bunch of them if you don't need them. I'm not handy at all so I have no clue if I need them. Any ideas? Please only answer if you have a Wesley Allen bed or you are familiar with them because, as I understand it, they have their own special "millenium frame" so I don't know if this will make a difference in answering my question. Oh, by the way, I got the complete bed with headboard, footboard, and frame if it makes a difference. Thanks in advance. :)

Use the washers on the bolts and/or screws to even out the holding pressure. Sometimes washers are used as shims in the event your frame is not square after you assemble it. Also it is not uncommon to receive extra washers or assembly hardware. It is cheaper to send along a few extra than to send out a few.

I don't know about this specific bed, but I used to sell furniture and most beds do use washers. Usually, washers should be put between the wood of the bed and any large screw or bolt. This spreads out the pressure a little, and keeps the head of the screw (and your wrench or screwdriver) from scraping or denting the wood.
