Wazzab ... You mean Bush supporters like Keith Olbermann and those Air America folks? Just kidding.

I guess both sides are somewhat guilty of that kind of behavior. Some people do that because they're mean to their core and some just don't have a decent answer so they have to resort to personal attacks and insults.

And that's the problem we've been having lately. This kind of stuff didn't happen when I was younger, but times have changed a bit and people don't watch their mouth anymore.

Suggestion ... When someone talks to you in that nasty fashion, if you feel you deserve better treatment, mention it to them and if they persist, just walk away.

If you see an on-air commentator behaving that way, change the channel. But even some people in the print media behave nastily too; then just don't buy their dumb newspaper.

Good luck and thanks for such a good question.

One wonders if it is not cognitive dissonance. Having hitched their wagon to a less than honest specimen of mediocrity, they feel defensive when it is pointed out.
I would be not just a little defensive and hostile if I supported Bush against an ever increasing majority that DON' T. Its their way of circling the wagons. The tide has turned against Bush, his war and the GOP, ( if it can't remove Bush and Cheney from office ).
Its sad, so many of his supporters need to believe in a good president that they will shower this one with blind loyalty.
To be a true believer is to be junenile.

As a Bush supporter I have to agree with you and I think it comes from always hearing people speak negitive about someone whom you believe support. I find most people who don't support the President don't always have there facts right and are rude also. Lets face it both sides are rude but President Bush named the first Black Secearty of State the first Black Woman as Secarty of State yet he is called a racist is that rude? He as commander and chief of the nation is called a murder for doing what in his and his advisors minds is in the best interest of the nation. Even Hilary voted for the war. I think Bush supporters are just worn out honestly. I mean are we brainwashed cause we want a President that sticks to his guns. Lets face it we as Americans are all rude we someone disagrees with us strongly

I am not against Bush either, I support him, but I may not always agree with him. I dont not act like your description, and I hope no one does. But Bush supporters are not the only ones. I have seen liberal stuff about Christians being facists and reps being idiots. And of course you have the idiot-in-chief comments. Not cool for either side.

Because that's how they are to everyone. They attack what they are unsure of. Right now they are unsure of what the real problems in the world are, so when someone mentions a REAL problem in the world, they quickly attack you and spin you as a communist, liberal, bleeding heart, or terrorist.

Maybe its because we Bush supporters have had to take so much **** from the left. 99% of which the man doesn't deserve. They preach compassion and empathy and yet show none toward the leader of THEIR country. F-ing hypocrites!

I looked through your history of questions and answers .. You really havent been involved in many politically oriented discussions at all...

But of the few you did I see in some questions , that you asked something with the pose of being objective ...
but then you accused anyone who didnt agree with you as being abusive to you and you praised people who had some pretty harsh language in their replies but agreed with you.

Now what is a person supposed to think of that?

It goes both ways. Those who love Bush are rude, arrogant, and abusive and those who hate Bush are rude, arrogant, and abusive.

I'm not arrogant and have respect for Bush, other countries have respect and historians ten to twenty years from now will rate Bush high for sticking to his principals and setting the strategy for a lasting middle east peace...... I look to Reagan as case in point where he was vehemently hated by the left when he was in office, but was rated by historians as one of the greatest American presidents.....

Bush is responsible for the tax cut that improves the economy that was headed toward recession after 9/11. The economy has done great under Bush and the deficit is on a huge downward tilt. Bush led the nation as a compassionate and strong leader after 9/11. He helped the US get back on our feet. Bush helped institute secutity changes and the creation of the Homeland Security Organization to protect the US. He also instituted changes in the monolithic CIA, FBI and other huge governmental departments to collaborate on security issues. This working together was unprecedented but necessary for protection. Bush led the effort to provide federal security in our nations airports. Bush has done tremendous things to protect us and there have been no terrorist activities on our soil as a result of his policies.
