I have only one cage and I put my hamster in there and she peed all over herself. I took her out but am at a loss as to what to do. I want her and the snake to become friends if possible.

The snake is 4 feet long and healthy, the hamster is average sized, cream colored and very cute! I just love her, but she is acting nervous around me now. sigh.

P.S. This is not a joke. I've had the snake longer than the hamster. He's still small enough to contain in an aquarium. I don't believe in keeping large animals of any kind, especially snakes. But, I must have made a mistake putting the hamster in the cage, because now she is biting me. I just went over to her and she ran around the couch. When I reached for her she bit me! I don't have another cage so I don't know what to do with her until I get one. thanks a lot.

no no no dont put the hamster in the cage with the snake , the snake can get hungry and eat the poor hamster. i would p all over myself two if i thought i was going to be eaten. i recommend please get a fish aquarium tank or glass cage and make your snake a nice home in it . the snake will eat the hamster if he gets hungry trust me. let the hamster have his own cage just for its self.

YOU DESERVE TO GET BIT AND MORE. What kind of drugs are you on? Since when is a boa a small pet? Boas get to be over 12 foot long. Second, where is your common sense? The hamster out of fear will bite the boa and due to nature, the snake will eat the hamster. Both can die. Either get another cage like a 10 gallon tank with locking lid or find it another home ASAP. In the mean time put the hamster in the bathtub (without water of course) so it will be safer. The slick sides will prevent it from getting out and make sure to put the stopper in too. A snake and a hamster can and will never be friends. We have 22 hamsters and a lavender king snake and would never consider putting any the the hamsters with the snake, It's just plain stupid.

I don't think that snakes can become friends with small rodents. They tend to eat them. If you want your hamster to live another day, I'd advise you not to do that. No wonder she peed herself, if I was her, I'd be scared too, death is very frightening.Animals have a different sense of "friendship" then us humans do. We can become friends with whomever we want, for animals, they usually keep to their species. Hamsters stick with hamsters and snakes stick with snakes. Snakes don't make freinds with hamsters, they eat them. So, just buy another cage for the hamster, you can find them for as little as $5 bucks. I hope you figure this out...

If the boa is too small or isn't hungry, the hamster will start nibbling on the snake. The hamster can be very energetic out of fear, while the snake is lethargic.

Hope the hamster wasn't expensive or rare!

Maybe we can stick you in the woods with a wild bear- that's about the same as you putting a hamster in with a snake.

Not unless you want the hamster to take a tour of the snake's stomach.

Oh my goodness, that would be quite the friendship. I have never heard of a boa being a friend to something it would like to eat. Give it a try, if you won't miss that hamster much.
