I was up one night and was writing quick poems so I wrote some on poetry.com not knowing what I was doing. Now people think I should send them to books but, don't know if they are now concidered as published already.

That depends on the publisher, but poetry.com is widely considered a scam site, so their acceptance of a poem doesn't mean the poem would be publishable elsewhere. It is VERY difficult to sell poetry in book form. (I sold quite a lot in the 1980s, but the market has dried up.) You should try to get some publishing credits in proper poetry magazines. Once you've had 20 or so poems published by independent paying markets, then a book publisher MIGHT take you seriously.

Poetry.com is a notorious scam site. Here is one of the many warnings you can read about them online:

For some publishing tips from an actual published poet, you can visit this site where she has some straight forward advice.

Officially, it's not published. You need to have a publisher to do that. But, in a sense, yes, it is. This all depends on how you look at things. I mean, it's been published by a website, but not by an official company such as Firebird Fantasy or Aladdin Fantasy. Again, all that really matters is your perspective.
