Well, it's like every other bad habit--it's hard to give up. But you have to set your mind to love yourself, forgive and forget about all the wrongs that have been done to you, and first and foremost, lean on the Lord and ask him to lead you out of this pit and into happiness and peace of mind. Take joy in the small things in life and enjoy nature. Pursue something that you've always wanted to do. It could be as simple as taking an art or writing course at the community college. Don't sit on the couch; get up and get out in the fresh air and sunshine at least 20 minutes every day. You can go "window" shop at the mall or take a ride to somewhere, it doesn't matter where. I wish you the best. When you start thinking those negative thoughts, tell yourself this is a new day and ask the Lord to lead you. If you have a sharp tongue (which I do), ask the Lord to help you stop nasty comments. When someone offends you, even driving the car and someone cuts you off, etc., just forgive them and say that you are doing it to the glory of the Lord. Ask the Lord for an abundant live. I wish you the best. It won't be easy, but you can do it.

Change the way you see things, and stop looking at the negative side of everything. Always TRY to look for something positive in a person or situation. Remember, it takes work.

What are you so bitter about, anyway? Relationships, people, life in general?
