Okay so my 2 guy friends are coming over and we are gonna watch "The others"..im the type of person who puts "The Ring" into the DVD player and then gets to the main menu and then freaks out and screams turns it off as fast as i can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so do you think i will get really scared when i watch "The Others"?????? and then also these 2 boys pushed for a scary movie! do you think its because they want me to "cuddle" with them when im scared during the movie?? or do they really just want to watch a scary movie??

I really enjoyed The Others. No where near as freaky as The Ring. I am a chicken when it comes to horror movies. There have only been a few that I have been able to watch without freaking out. The Others is kinda creepy, but in a suspensful way. The ending is the best--it has such a great twist. There are really only a couple parts that are chilling.. I'll tell them to you so you don't have to look:

At one point, the mother is walking in the attic and its dark, and you see a ghostly outline of a face behind her--but it only ends up being a portrait of a person.
When the daughter is wearing the white Communion Dress, the mother walks out and the daughter starts playing. When the mother walks back in and lifts the veil of the dress from her daughters face, there is a creepy, blind old woman staring at her instead of her daughter--then the mother freaks out.
You hear some running of people that can't be seen and pianos mysteriously playing and doors slamming, but no worries, nothing is going to pop out.
Finally, when the daughter and son are trying to go to bed one night, the daughter talks about how she talks to this boy--but no one has ever seen him. The daughter tries scaring her brother by telling her of ghosts and what-not. Then you will hear foot-steps and the curtains will suddenly open---not to scary...but if your not prepared it can be spooky cause its sudden.
Mother is walking to town in the fog, and sounds like someone is following her---turns out to be her long-lost husband.
Thats all I can really think of, its been a long time since I have seen the movie. Watch it, it is pretty good. I love the ending when everything finally gets revealed.
As for the two boys....its possible they are trying to 'cuddle' with you...but they may just be trying to be jerks and trying to scare you. With this forewarning, you should be ok to watch the movie.

I saw "The Others" in the theater with my boyfriend's little sister and we kept grabbing each other's arms b/c we were freaked out... but it's not really all that scary. Not like things jumping out and scaring you, like "The Ring" or "The Grudge." A lot of it is psychological.
And, considering my reaction to the movie, the guys probably want to cuddle... Although the fact that there are two of them is a little odd... Have a female friend over too, so you don't get put in an uncomfortable situation.
Well, they either want to cuddle or freak you out because they know you're freaked out by scary movies... One or the other.

This is a very good movie and no, you won't really get scared by the movie. It's not as scary as The Ring for sure. I'm a scaredy cat and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Have fun!

They want to cuddle. The others is a horrible movie and not even scary. So they'll pretend to get bored and want to cuddle more...
Be careful with these two.

don't worry The Others is not scary,its more just a mess with your mind kind of horror.
the movie is not even a cuddle flick,so they wont get to play hero and protect you from the terror on the screen.

It's pretty decent, has a couple slight jumpers, but is quite surprising, another good one is Mothman Prophecies and Dragonfly.
