About 20 years ago I was home alone at night with just my dalmation for company as my parents were out for the evening.

Being alone never bothered me, it was no big deal. I was sitting in a chair next to the picture window, under which my dog was lying on her doggie bed, reading a book, and all of a sudden my dog started to real quietly growl hair up and all. Very unusual for her, she was more the barking type. I looked and she was looking up at the window next to me...where some strange dude stood looking in!

I hadn't really moved my head to look, being afraid of what I would see, so I very calmly got out of the chair and walked into the hallway, where I promptly fell to the floor in a total panic! I crawled to my room and grabbed the phone, and called where my parents were, not even thinking to call the police.

Dad came home and looked around, but by then the guy was long gone.

We found out that a peeping tom had been seen all over the nieghborhood that night.

I'll always be very grateful that my dog kept her cool and just growled to let me know some one was there, and to get out of dodge while I could.

She was a great dog!

Well, me and a friend who is about a year and a half younger than me were in my room, and we started hearing some noises. We had just gotten finished watching some scary movie, I can't even remember what it was anymore. It was at night, and I'm a LOTR fan, and for my birthday I had gotten a Sting sword [real, sharp, and very very gorgeous] and it was hanging on my wall above my bed. It fell off and pierced the bed, nearly hitting me. When we thought we heard someone coming down the hall, we locked the door and she grabbed Sting like she was actually going to stab someone with it and I got the cordless phone .... The phone was on the bed and when I sat down on it I looked at the display and the numbers were 666. I was a little weirded out by the rest of it, but she freaked out at the whole 666 thing. She wouldn't stop talking about how we were going to die ... etc. Eventually someone else got home, I think it was my brother and we were okay after that, but we were pretty scared, and we were 12 and 10 or maybe 11.
Also, my kitchen has these big dormer windows, and my backyard is pretty freaky at night, once when I went in the kitchen I thought I saw red eyes watching me ......

OK when I was about 15 I was alone in my house, every light in the house starting turning it self off and on ! I ran out of the house and sat outside till my mother came home. The lights were fine at that point, the next day my best friends brother drowned at a pool just around the corner from my house! Now every time I see blinking lights I know someone will die soon! I am 51 now and it does it every time, the closer the person is to me the more the lights blink for up to a few weeks before...

As a new bride staying in a boarding house where my husband was stationed,at an air force base in S.D. I always left my door unlocked as he got off base at midnight-A prowler entered and vaguely saw him by the hall light to be a white male in uniform and he began to choke me to attack me but for a couple seconds, shook loose and screamed and he ran. It made the newspaper and an army WAAC (Women's Army Air Corp) was found murdered a few days before. My attacker was never apprehended but heard later my scream was heard a block away. It brought the boarding house owners to my door and they called the police.

I had walked home at night from movie downtown and evidently was followed. The boarding house was by a very dark alley and I realized later I had the sunporch room curtains down all but an inch or so. I would not let my husband in the room when he showed up an hour later to confront a locked door until he told me my mother's maiden name which was a very unusual one!

It was a good thing I called my parents in Iowa as the S.D. newspaper forwarded the artical to our hometown newspaper so they were not taken by surprize.

I've been home alone a lot and gotten pretty scared. Then there was really nothing to be scared of. My imagination was the only scary thing at my house.
