My employer forces me to buy our own uniforms. I owe my boss for a shirt I bought one week ago. I told them I would pay asap, but they are now refusing to give me my whole paycheck. I am still employed and in good standing with them. They are just doing this for spite. Is this legal or aganist the law.

Why don't you just have them deduct the cost of the shirt from your check and give you the rest. Would make everyone happy.

seems to me they could be a whole lot more reasonable here, after all they have you there and it could be deducted a little at a time from your pay if you had an employer who gave a crap...it is bad enough you gotta kiss butt on the job for minimum wages then you have be treated like a child afterwards...you will NEVER be in good standing with the company you are with .there is no respect there...take your time and find something more meaningful...geez's it 's just a shirt.but apparantly they'll take that off your back anyway...

Legally speaking your employer CANNOT hold your check for any reason. I would recommend having them deduct in small amounts from your check. There should be no reason for them to refuse to do so.
