I mean really, if you're going to be pop you might as well admit it. Don't drag the good bands down with you.

I do, I do! "Alternative" should be just that, an alternative to pop/mainstream music. Most of what passes for alternative these days is just another pop commodity.

Last alternative band that I think of as alternative was Filter.

Well there are some bands that are alternative, but they sound really poppy/punky.
