I LOVE it. It's an old-fashioned name, but those are so in style now. At work, I know of mothers who have named their children Ella and Charlotte and Lilly. These are such simple, classic names that are cute and different for a baby but will be so fitting for adults as well.
Trudy can be short for Gertrude or it can be on its own. To "girl" it up a bit more, or to make it more its own name rather than a nickname, you can go with Trudi.

Trudy Mae makes me think of an old bitter 75 year old southern hag. How about Maybelline, Maybelle or Maesie. True is a beautiful name instead of Trudy.

I like the Trudy. Not sure about Trudy Mae though.
Maybe Trudi Lynnette or Trudy Colleen etc... Should really fit with your last name too.
I have an older name, Lillian, and they really do come back in style. Like Matilda is coming back now.
Trudy is different from all the Kristy/Brittney common names out there.
I dont want my kids to be common. I love the names Isabella, Ava and Vivian.
Good luck

Trudy is a shortform of Gertrude.
Trudy Mae is okay, but kind of reminds me of Peggy Sue or Elly Mae. A little hokey.

I think its old fashioned, reminds me of the good olde days when women were not allowed to vote or wear pants. Surely, you don;t want your child growing up with the name Trudy.
And then to stick Mae in the middle, truly you can do better than that.
If you must name your child Trudy, then how's about a cool middle name like Alize?

I don't like it. It sounds country to me. It would look a little better if you were to spell it Trudie. I can't think of a middle name that would go with it.

for my section.... after analyzing a e book referred to as Goodnight Mister Tom 2 years in the past, on each and every occasion I hear the call Trudy i think of of his ineffective little one sister he became into locked under the steps with, so for my section no longer a fan, yet Trudy Christina is advantageous..

I don't particularly care for the name myself. Also the Mae in there makes her sound like she's from the hicks or something. People may assume she's not very smart like the Beverly Hillbilly's. I think maybe you could shorten it to Tru instead. I only suggest going a different route because there have been studies with teachers and job applications as well and names make a big difference. Names that are different get looked over on job applications and teachers actually tend to mark higher for common names like Michael and Sarah even when the work is the same. So just be careful whatever you choose.
