I think that marijuana is no more abused than alcohol. It is not a risk to others by sharing dirty needles, etc. People smoke their cigarettes and they drink their booze. I don't think that marijuana has any more serious side effects than either of those things, and they are both legal. I think that the DEA will never be able to control or stop marijuana trafficking. Their energies could be much more valuable if spent chasing the guys who fly in the cocaine and other more serious drugs than weed. I think they should just legalize it with the same kind of restrictions that alcohol and cigarettes have. I mean, get real. It's not going anywhere, and it is really not any more of a big deal than Jack Daniels of Johnny Walker or Grey Goose.

the impact of alcohol is debatable with all the govt restrictions and other positive input it is sometimes a blessing in disguise but hardly an accurate parallel to other substances . Is it better to legalize an orange or an apple ? Marijuana is far more innocuous than the govt will admit as evidenced by the several Presidential investigations that gave favorable medical opinions and were sat on by presidential political reason. and the highly published alternative reasons for propaganda as seen on the history channel it really should be over the counter without a script both saving tax payers money and eliminating a huge revenue for the criminal element when will informed honest individuals gain some political clout .

Marijuana will never be legalized. It is way too easy to grow and it would be hard for the government to tax. If it was legalized, you might as well kiss your fourth amendment goodbye. Plus, not only would M.A.D.D be mothers against drunk drivers it would also be known as mothers against doobey doers. It would just take one pot smoker to get behind the wheel and get into an accident and kill someone or themselves, and they would be all over that like flies on stink. Then, the cycle starts again.

If the US keeps letting people bring drugs there from over the border then why don't they make it legal?

no I really don't...it's a counter productive drug.
Nothing good comes from it, except for the medical use, so just keep it the way it is now, only legal as medicine.
