Um,
I'm sorry to have to disagree with those who advocate babysitting. BUT...
What happens if an emergency comes up?
Will you be able to lift the baby?
If you are merely allergic to grass or other allergens and can't go outside, what happens if you're babysitting and you have to take the baby outside?
At age 12, I think the primary way you should be looking to get money is from your parents, relatives, social services, etc.

If you are trustworthy you could be a mother's helper. I would have paid a kid your age to come in and play with my toddler while I took a long bath or read for awhile.
You could also clean house. I used to pay a young neighbor 15.00 to empty all my trash, dust sweep and mop, knowing she wouldn't be able to do a professional job, but with my limited income, it still helped us both.
Print up something on the computer and take it to people in your neighborhood.
Don't expect to be paid 'grown up' wages, because you cannot take on all the responsibility, nor would you want to!

Babysitting, is definently a great one, it can also be fun if you can put up with little kids. you get payed well too! And make friendships that are unbreakable with the kids you babysitt. I wish i babysitted when i was younger, really. You can also ask your parents about an allouance, as cheesy as it is, do work around your own house, and maybe your parents can pay you for it.

Maybe you could do ironing. My nephew made a killing when he was in high school. And he got to stand in front of the tv watching his favorite shows while he did it. I don't remember the prices, but he got something like .35 per shirt, and .50 for slacks. You have to be detail conscious and care about doing a good job.
