I have been sleeping with my baby blanket for 22 years is there something wrong with me? I love that blanket, I will never let it go, I will continue to sleep with it. I don't feel like there is anything wrong with me sleeping with it. I have to sew it up every once in a while because I don't want it to fall apart. It is dear to me my grandmother made it for me when I was a baby. Its not a small blanket though its big. What do you all think?

Also I am married and my husband don't have a problem with it. He even steals it from me at times. LOL

I don't think it matters what anyone on Answers thinks. You've already made up your mind that you're going to sleep with the blanket no matter what, so who cares what strangers on the internet think?

Well, I am thinking on the lines that you probably find safety in having this blanket while you sleep. The fact that you have had this blanket with you for 22 years means that you are also very sentimentally attached to it.

People who have strong feelings for something do not just give it up...good or bad. In your case, it's just a blanket. It's nothing harmful that will cause danger to you or anyone else, so there is no problem here.

Be glad that you are sentimental towards it. Sleeping at night can be our most vulnerable time (we are asleep and not consciously aware of what is happening around us). If you have something that helps keep you feeling safer, then by all means, keep it.

According to me, it is nothing bad or good as such. Blanket means to you much more than I suppose anything else. It's merely an "attachment" about the Blanket. By "Attachment" I mean; attachment of love, care & support that it (blanket) gave you throughout the childhood and even in difficult times / circumstances.... and because it shares a common bond which is the Love of your dearest grandmother.
But always remember after all in reality all the gifts should be handled with this type of attachment. Even the biggest gift of life.

I don't see anything wrong with that at all. I'm 23, married, just had my first baby, and I still sleep with my baby blanket as well. It's not that I COULDN'T sleep without it, but I don't want to and I'm not going to. My husband teases me sometimes but so what? It's comforting.

If it's not like a real baby blanket, if it's a big blanket then it's fine. I can see how it is special to you because your grandmother made it. I still have one on my bed that my grandmother made for me when I was 5. She died when I was 6.

If it helps you sleep soundly then I dont see the problem. If you were still sucking your thumb then mabye a problem lol It's whatever makes you happy thats the most important. Nobody needs to know its your "baby blanket" for all anyone knows it is a throw you just cant shake.

If i hadnt seen someone with my own eyes crying whilst we were in Europe on a bus trip because she thought she left her baby blanket somewhere i wouldnt have believed your question.

I think it is highly abnormal and would be seeking help if i were you. I look at my 11 year old niece that does the same thing and think she needs to grow up. I just dont get it.
