All young kids are pretty self-centered, and older sisters are all wrapped up in themselves and their friends and may not want to be bothered with a younger sister much of the time.

Younger sisters (I am one) need to remember not to take this personally, and to just think, "She's still not mature, so she's being crummy because of that."

Most of the time, once everyone reaches a certain level of maturity they begin to grow close. Sometimes, of course, some sisters don't grow close; and that's usually because neither sister is mature enough to overcome or respect differences and realize how nice it is to have a sister.

Younger sisters need to have their own friends and do their own thing, and try not to pay attention to impatient, "snobby", older sisters who think they're more important because they're older. Its all part of not being grown up. Way down deep, most older sisters really love their little sisters. (They just don't want to be bothered with them a good part of the time.) Part of it could be they like being older and don't want to be seen as younger by hanging out with someone younger. (After all, they were the younger sister's age once, they grew out of it, and they don't want anyone to think they aren't as old as they are now.)

older sisters do not hate their younger sisters. They do resent it when the younger sisters get too nosy in their life style and touch things that belong to them or wear their clothes. Or of they have to take a back seat most of the time from Mom and Dad to the younger sister,Also most of the time older sisters have more responsibility then younger ones

there are two reasons:
the first, older sister thinks that younger ones are cumbrance and trouble.
the second, usually the younger ones get more patience from parents. Older sisters are jealous, lol.

Not necessarily. My older sister is the light of my eyes. She's like the best of a mom, and a best friend, a teacher, and a sister all rolled into one. I'm so blessed to have her in my life. She's my sweetheart sister. I can cry just typing these words, because I haven't seen her in a few months (we live in different cities now).

When I was younger, my issue with my little sister, was she was always under my feet. I couldn't get any alone time. If I had friends in my room she would kick the door handle until it broke. As we got older we were closer, which is the case with most sisters.

because the younger one is always there....when the older one goes out and gets married, they still have the younger daughter....the older daughter is expected to be repsonsible and the younger one is the "princess" or the spoiled one especially if she is the youngest out of the family. And obviously, they get away with more as in getting spoiled more. And the younger daughter gets more attention since she's the baby.

I don't think older sisters always hate their younger sisters. My sister was eight years older than me and she was like my second mother. I think it depends on how much older your sister is than you and also if their are any other siblings between you. I do know sisters that fight like cats and dogs though.

I am the youngest of 2 older sisters. I know exactly what it feel like to be picked on. It is a stage and they will grow out of it. When you are older I'm sure it will be much better. It has been for me anyway. Just tell her that you don't like it when she pick of you. Good Luck and Hang in there, it'll work out!!!
